Abhijit hits ton as Guwahati in driver's seat

GUWAHATI, May 3: Guwahati are on the driver seat against Tinsukia on the first day of the quarter fils in the Nuruddin Senior Inter district Cricket Tourment (elite group) held at the Barsapara ground here today. The highlight of the day’s game was a fine century from Guwahati captain Abhijit Singha Roy who put 104 runs on the board before got out.
Invited to bat, Tinsukia struggled from the very beginning of their innings and the entire side bowled out paltry 80 runs in the first innings. Mantu Das and Chakya Sarma picked up three wickets each.
In reply Guwahati made a solid start and finished the day scoring 223-4 in their first innings. Abhijit took 106 balls to score 104 runs with the help of 11 boundaries and three sixes. He got good support from Hrishikesh Tamuli (60) who scored half century in the first innings. Home team already took 143 runs first innings lead with six wickets still intact in their hand.
