Abhishek hits ton against NFRSA

GUWAHATI, May 9: A solid knock from Abhishek Thakuri helped Silchar to put respectable total on the board against North East Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) in the last quarter fil of the Nuruddin Inter District Cricket tourment (elite) held at the Barsapara ground here today. Invited to bat, Silchar bowled out 237 runs in the first innings and most of those runs came from the bat of Abhishek. The batsman today played a well composed knock and took his score to triple figure before got out. Abhishek played 170 balls to score 107 runs with the help of 12 boundaries and one six. Apart from Abhisekh, the other batsmen who made noticeable contributions with bat were Samik Das (35), Pritam Das (28) and Ikramul Ali (25). Niraj Tiwari, the most successful bower for NFRSA, picked up four wickets for 55 runs.

NFRSA also failed to make good start in their first innings and were 27-1 at stumps on day I. Manoj Malo and Utpal Medhi remained not out on 12 and 0 respectively.
