ABK urges Governor to resolve issues

Itagar, Feb 2: The Adi Baane Kebang (ABK), the supreme council of the Adi tribe in a representation to state Governor on Wednesday requested him to resolve various issues for a comprehensive development of the state.

The ABK requested the governor to impress upon the state government for shifting of zol offices of various departments to eastern Aruchal in the area from msai to Pasighat.

Highlighting the communication bottleneck, the Kebang also demanded for construction of four-lane road from Banderdewa to Pasighat besides establishment of an AIIMS at Pasighat to cater to the need of the students. “If the AIIMS is established at Pasighat, the medical coverage of the entire state will be covered proportiotely and some part of Assam as well. The Tomo Riba State Hospital and the RK Mission Hospital with full medical facilities shall cater to the medical needs of the Capital and western region covering 9 districts,” the ABK said. It further requested the governor to impress upon the Centre for full-fledged functioning of the Aruchal State University at Pasighat and to find a permanent solution to the drug abuse plaguing the state. While demanding for a complete ban on hunting to protect and preserve the faul species of the state, the ABK also suggested for conducting a linguistic survey and research as most tribal languages in the state have been enlisted in the list of critically endangered by UNESCO.
