ABMSU stages road blockade, demands repair of road

RANGIA, Jan 19: The All BTC Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) blocked Rangia-Latibari PWD Road for two hours at Khandikar under Kaurbaha outpost in BTC on Thursday demanding repair and reconstruction of the road. The Tamulpur district committee, with the help of the Khandikar local committee, organized the protest programme.  Hundreds of local people, including students, participated in the protest programme. They also shouted slogans against the department concerned. The president and scretary of the student organization, Afjal Hussain and Taison Hussain respectively, also  demanded completion of the half-constructed concrete bridge over Puthimari River near Dhulabari, upgrading the Kaurbaha primary health centre to a modern health centre and stopping gambling and teer in an around Tamulpur. They also submitted memorandum to the authority concerned. Traffic was disrupted because of the protest.
