ABSU leader Kakeswar rzary's death anniversary observed

KOKRAJHAR, Oct 12: The Ramfalbil Anchalik Committee, ABSU today observed the 12th death anniversary of the founder secretary of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and former Chief Executive Member of the then Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC) Kakeswar rzary at Rupth Brahma Memorial field, Ramfalbil here.

As part of the programme, president of the Ramfalbil Anchalik Committee, ABSU, Ratith rzary hoisted the organizatiol flag at half mast while late rzary’s wife Hirabai rzary paid homage at the portrait of her husband.

The speaker of ABSU Jayanta Basumatary and BTC MCLA Jatirindra Brahma also paid floral tribute.

Talking to this reporter on the sideline of the programme, BTC MCLA Brahma said that late rzary had lot of contributions to the Bodos as he was one of the main instrumental to bring out movement against the suppression and domition. He said rzary took immense role for the Bodos and formed Goalpara Boro Chatra Sanmillan in 1963 and subsequently he formed the ABSU in 1967 with a view to give safeguard to the Bodos from domition.

The ABSU has been following the thoughts and philosophy of late rzary; he said adding that he sawed the spirit of tiolism. He also said rzary had also contributions in the field of language, literature, culture and socio-politics. He further said rzary was uncompromising Bodo leader as he never bowed down the issues of the Bodos.

Brahma said late rzary was not only the founder of ABSU but also a great revolutionist. On the other hand, the Ramfalbil Anchalik Sports Association (RASA) organized the 11th Kakeswar rzary memorial football trophy at Rupth Brahma field today.

ABSU Speaker Jayanta Basumatary iugurated the match by releasing balloons and pigeons as a mark of peace.

In the iugural match, Bardwisikla Club of Kachugaon defeated Seganen Sports Club of Amguri by 2-0 goals. The goals were scored by Dwimalu Basumatary and Okhrang rzary in 5 minute and 35 minute respectively. Earlier in the morning, the president of the Ramfalbil Anchalik Sports Association (RASA) Harkeswar Daimary hoisted the flag of the association while leaders of ABSU, ABWWF, Boro Samaj, Tribal Sangha etc. also hoisted the flags of the participating teams consecutively while Rongi rzary, professor of Arjya Vidydapith College and daughter of late Kakeswar rzary opened the field.
