ABSU, NDFB (P) and PJACBM demand early solution to Bodoland issue

UDALGURI, January 19: The ABSU, NDFB (P) and PJACBM have demanded early permanent solution to the Bodoland issue  and constitutiol safeguard and political rights to the Bodo people.

The People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement (PJACBM), ABSU and NDFB(P) have also cited the CAG report on the alleged misuse of Rs 750 crore central package in BTC and reminded Prime Minister Modi about his anti-corruption slogan ‘ Khaunga, Khane  Dunga’.

The joint movement group demanded high-level CBI enquiry of the central packages already sanctioned to BTC, taking into account the CAG report, before giving any new packages. The group also appealed to the Prime Minister to transform the CIT into a Central University, establishment of new institutions such as IIM, IIT, agriculture university, agro-based industry, tea bottling factory, IT Park, small and medium power project, organic zone as special economic zone and entrepreneurship and skill training institute for the unemployed youths. The joint movement group on Tuesday staged a three hour sit-in at Udalguri Bishnu Rabha Krishti premise and shouted slogans demanding separate state of Bodoland. ABSU vice-president Dipen Boro, NDFB (P) president B. Sunthagra, Lawrence Islary, general secretary ABSU, Jebra Ram Muchahary, chief convener of PJACBM,   Prodeep Kumar Daimary, general secretary of UPF, and others took part in the demonstration.
