ABSU to play decisive role in ensuing assembly election: Promod Boro

HOWRAGHAT, January 30: The 45th annual conference of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Karbi Anglong district unit, held at Langhin Tiniali in Karbi Anglong concluded peacefully on Friday.

While attending as chief guest in the open meeting, Promod Boro, president of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), urged parents, guardians and public to create a congenial atmosphere for education for the students in the society.

Boro reiterated that to establish themselves as a developed and advanced tribe in the world, they would have to be good learners and researchers of education, religion, language and culture. Sans knowledge and experience, no one can institute themselves as advance and developed tribe in the world, Boro added.

Besides, he asked all ABSU activists and school and college students to execute in practical the dreams of Bodofa Upendra th Brahma.  Addressing the crowd, Boro further said that comprehensive mission of total revolution had been adopted by the ABSU for total solution of Bodo people’s issues.

“We are holding talks frequently with the State as well as Central governments on the long-standing State and Centre-based issues of the Bodo people respectively. We want immediate solution of issues concerning the Bodo people,” the ABSU leader said.

Speaking on the failure of government, Promod Boro said that the government had failed to ensure the constitutiol fundamental rights to people due to which many ethnic communities had resorted to agitation.  If the genuine demands of endogenous people of India are not resolved then such stirs would continue till they attain their constitutiol fundamental rights, the student leader added.

Speaking on their political strategy to be taken during the ensuing assembly election, Promod Boro said, “We will work in favour of the party which will give importance to the issues of the Bodo people with immediate.”   He added that Bodo people would have influence in 45 seats out of the total 126 assembly seats in the State. A decisive role will be played by the ABSU for the greater interest of the Bodo people in the ensuing assembly elections, Boro said determinedly.

In his speech, Sarat Brahma local MAC and EM, KAAC urged the student body to take proactive role in Bodo-tion building activities. Besides, Brahma called upon the Bodo student leaders to create ideal leaders from their platform.

Dr Premanda Muwchahary, professor, Thongnokbe College and Nipen Baglary, Principal, Langhin Pamgaon HS School, were appointed speakers in the open meeting. During the open meeting all the presidents and secretaries of Bodo frontal organizations participated. Besides, presidents and secretaries of ABSU of Golaghat, gaon, Sunitpur and Morigaon district units were also present in the open meeting.
