ABSU's candle light procession against AFSPA

UDALGURI, November 3: The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) took out a candle light procession in Udalguri on Monday decrying the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA).

ABSU president Pramod Boro expressed his solidarity with Irom Sharmila Chanu of Manipur and urged the government to withdraw the draconian AFSPA.

Prodeep Kumar Daimary, the general secretary of UPP, also expressed anguish at the ‘pitiable condition’ of human rights under this law. ABSU activists from the district took part in this candle light march.
