UDALGURI, Nov 19: The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) took out a torch rally throughout the State demanding immediate action to form Bodoland state.
In Udalguri the torch rally began from Golma Chowk and ended at Udalguri town. Rinjoy Boro, the Udalguri district committee ABSU president, urged the Union Government and also the State Government to take immediate steps towards the formation of separate Bodoland state. He reminded the BJP leaderships about their assurance to resolve the Bodoland issue if they came to power.
Bolendra Brahma, the Principal of UN Academy iugurated the torch rally. Rakesh Boro, the convener of People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement, and others attended the rally. The ABSU will also take out a cycle rally on December 2 and warned the government against neglecting the mass demand of Bodoland.
