AC Peer team in RGU

Itagar, May 12: A Peer team of the tiol Assessment and Accreditation Council (AC), an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country, has reached Rajiv Gandhi University, near here.The high level team will be meeting the University authorities, students, parents and alumni during their four day visit which would end on May 15.The peer team is led by its chairman Prof. Anil K. Bhatgar, former vice chancellor Pondicherry University with Prof. A. K. Pattaik, Prof. Arabinda Kumar Das, Prof. J.C. Sharma, Prof.C. seema, Prof. Suresh Chand, Dr chanda Goswami and Prof Amiya Kumar Rath as members. The team would assess whether the University meets the standards of quality as set by the Accreditation Agency and assign it a grade based on its performance related to the educatiol processes and outcomes, covering the curriculum, teaching-learning, evaluation, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources, organisation, governce, fincial well being and student services.Rajiv Gandhi University is presently accredited with a B rating, as per AC norms.The Alumni Association Rajiv Gandhi University (AARGU) will meet the team on May 14 to discuss on various pertinent issues of the universities. AARGU led by Likha Tongum shall meet the AC Peer Team, a press release informed here today.
