Academic excellence feat by Arunachal researcher

ITANAGAR, July 12: In a rare feat of academic excellence, Oyi Tamut of Arunachal Pradesh who is currently pursuing her PhD in Linguists from NEHU (North Eastern Hill University) was awarded the best International speaker award for her paper presentation in the recently concluded 20th International Linguistic Congress held at Cape town, South Africa.

The International Linguistic Congress is held once in every 5 (five) years which is meant to showcase current developments in linguists all over the world. This year scholars from 32 countries participated in the conference and out of all of them Oyi Tamut was the sole recipient of the coveted award. Hailing from Jomo village of Siang district, she graduated from the prestigious Womens College of Shillong with distinction.
