But the Subdivisional Court permitted only three more days judicial custody for the accused. The accused are at present being interrogating by the Special Investigative Team at 11 APBN Camp situated in Ligiripukhuri, Nazira of Sivasagar district.

Meanwhile, SIT officers also brought the accused to Joysagar Civil Hospital on July 17 where blood and urine samples of the accused were collected by the Medical Officers and sources also informed that the DNA samples were also collected from the accused to prove their involvement in the shocking rape and murder of two women on train.

The mother of one of the victims, Radha Kumari, has already identified Bikash Das before the magistrate. When she had gone to Sivasagar Railway Station with her daughter Radha on July 11, there was no other passenger other than Bikash Das with Radha in the compartment. She was travelling by train to her grandmother’s house at Furkating in Golaghat district. The accused during interrogation allegedly confessed to raping and killing the two women, as well as many other crimes which they had committed in various trains in Upper Assam earlier, sources said.
