Golaghat, Feb26: Intertiolly acclaimed film maker from Assam, JahnuBaruah visited the District Jail in Golaghat.
Baruah visited the jail and interacted with the inmates and discussed several relevant issues. The purpose of his visit was to show short documentary films and to promote the hidden artistic and cultural talents of the jail inmates. Krish KantaHandiqui State Open University has taken up a project called BrojenBaruah Memorial Documentary Festival under which documentary and short films were screened in the jail premises.
In the premises of the District Jail in Golaghat, a programme was organized where short documentary films were screened. In the programme, along with JahnuBaruah, the Dean of KKHSOU, DibyajyotiMahanta and several other distinguished persolities were present. The State Open University recently opened 13 study centres in different prisons across the State, including one centre in the District Jail in Golaghat.
