ACMS, Borsola branch observes 60th foundation day

DHEKIAJULI, Aug 12: The ACMS Borsola Branch observed its 60th foundation day recently with a day-long programme in Dhekiajuli. The organization flag was hoisted  by  Gulap Das Panika, president of ACMS Borsola Branch. Later, floral tribute was paid at the portrait of the workers who lost their lives in recent years.  Altogether, workers of 33 tea estates attended the foundation day programme.
After the flag hoisting and other programmes, the workers, officials and other office bearers of the 33 tea estates took out a procession from the ACMS, Borsola branch and passed throughout the town. The procession stopped at the statues of the martyrs of 1942 near Dhekiajuli Police Station. Monbor th, Moniram Boro, Ratan Kochari, Mongol Kurku, Saruth Sutia, Kumoli Devi, Khohuli Devi, Lerela Kochari,
Doyal Das Panika, Tileswari Baruah and Muhiram Koch of Bargaon and harbari mouza of Dhekiajuli had made the ultimate sacrifice for the country’s independence  on September 20,1942. Floral tributes were offered at the statues.
 Later, the procession moved towards Timurti Bhavan  and there a general meeting was  held under the presidentship of Golap Das Panika. Participating in the meeting, former Deputy Speaker and ACMS Borsola Branch secretary  Bhima nda Tanti said that for the safety, security and all-round development of the tea tribe community, ACMS had always raised its voice and would continue to fight till all demands were fulfilled.
