ACMS Borsola branch office vandalized by AASA activists

DHEKIAJULI, March 16: Several AASA activists entered the ACMS Borsola branch office on Monday and ransacked the office campus, breaking office computers, a generator, a TV set, office furniture and destroying office files and documents.

Property worth around Rs 5 lakh was damaged.  In the morning, several AASA activists under the leadership of  rayan Singor, AASA  Dhekiajuli unit  president and Melkhas Toppo,  general secretary, Bishnu Tanti gathered in front of the ACMC office and shouted slogans against ACMS. Suddenly around 20 AASA activists turned violent and forcibly entered the ACMS Borsola branch office campus and started breaking the office property.

The ACMS office staff, however, maged to escape without getting hurt. At the time of the attack, ACMS general secretary and Deputy Speaker Bhima nda Tanti was not present in the office, but assistant secretary Shiva Charan Bug was present. Later when he was informed about the attack, Tanti rushed to Dhekiajuli and took stock of the situation.

Tanti condemned the attack in strong words.  Talking to this correspondent, Tanti said that ACMS was an organization of tea garden workers and it always worked for the benefit of the tea garden workers.
