TINSUKIA, June 24: Raju Sahu, former Chabua Congress MLA and also secretary of ACMS Panitola branch, came down heavily on the anti-labour policy of the present BJP-led government. In a workers’ meeting of Gotong Mandal Congress under Chabua constituency on Sunday, Sahu said the government had failed to keep any commitment for the uplift of tea labour community that was mentioned in the election manifesto.

Sahu said, “Congress has no alternative. It is only the Congress that works for the welfare of the tea community.” Criticizing the tea wage policy, the government had declared enhancement of wages six month back which was yet to be implemented that led to loss of PF, gratuity and bonus, he remarked. He demanded immediate settlement of all wage-related issues.
