ACS slams State Government

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

ITAGAR, Oct 7: The Aruchal Civil society (ACS) on Tuesday castigated the ruling ministers and MLAs for neglecting the contentious Chakma-Hajong refugee issue in the state. “Instead of gearing up policy and programmes to challenge the Supreme Court’s verdict, most of the ministers and MLA’s are busy in own political battle leaving the common public to suffer,” ACS chairman Pate Tayum told reporters here.

“Delhi is the capital of India not the capital of Aruchal Pradesh, but still leaders stay there for more than a month for holidays leaving behind all the works here,” he alleged.

“Moreover they book their stay in Bhawan and House while they actually stay at their private property which makes the common people in Delhi for various works suffer a lot in terms of accommodation,” asserted Tayum.

Coming down hard on the Chakma-Hajong issue, Tayum averred that the refugee issue generally raked up when there NDA government rule the country.

The ACS appealed the state government to find out a mechanism to tackle the refugee issue rather than busy in blame game and creating turmoil in the state.
