Action demanded against Mallo

Itagar, Jan 5: A conglomeration of 16 organizations on January 02 last in a representation submitted to Governor J P Rajkhowa has expressed resentment over the complaint lodged by Rural Development Secretary Indra Mallo against them.

The organizations stating that the complaint was lodged against them without any provocation or prima-facie evidence added that they had actually gone to meet Mallo on December 30 last with a representation asking her not to clear ant files pertaining to PDS payment amounting to more than Rs 200 crore to which even Mallo had acknowledged.

“We did not use any unparlimentary words against her. She rather appreciated our efforts and admitted to our point of view. So we are really shocked and surprised to what could be the factor which influenced here to lodge a complaint against us,” the organizations in the letter wrote. The organizations further stated that they have certain evidences against her during her tenure as Secretary in the health department where she has committed many irregularities and there was already an allegation against her for receiving Rs 50 lakhs as a kickback in the controversial PDS payment of Rs 35 crore.

Further requesting the governor to take necessary action against Mallo, the organizations asserted that they would carry on the fight against corruption and even would initiate a mass Jail bharo andholon if any of its members are further arrested. Meanwhile, in a different representation submitted to Secretary of Personnel, Government of India, the organizations alleging Mallo of being involved in various corruption act during her tenure as Secretary Health sought action against her and stated that they we ready to cooperate with the investigating agency with the evidences. The organisations included the Joint Action Committee, All Aruchal Pradesh Border Students Union, Aruchal Students Federation, Aruchal Youth Organizations, All Galo Youth Organizations, United Organizations of Aruchal Pradesh, Aruchal Pradesh United Youth Organization, Nyishi Youth Welfare Association, Save Aruchal Youth Association, Aruchal People’s Front, Ziro Anti-Corruption People Forum, All Monpa Youth Association, Upper Subansiri Youth Front, Tagin Justice Forum, Capital Peoples Forum and All India Nyishi People’s Forum.
