ADC jurisdiction: SNSBH slams CM Mukul Sangma

FROM OUR Correspondent

SHILLONG, Oct 23: The Synjuk ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SNSBH) today said that the recent statement of Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma that Government has no intention to encroach upon the jurisdiction of autonomous district councils (ADCs) does not match with his deeds.

According to SNSBH, the traditiol heads held a consultative meeting with the government led by Dr Sangma on March 4, wherein he assured that the government will not encroach into the jurisdiction of ADCs.

“But even after this date when he had given us the assurance his deeds does not match his assurance,” SNSBH, general secretary RL Blah said.

According to Blah, the recent letter of the Chief Minister is not at all related with their demands even as it said that sending such a letter at this juncture is nothing but politics to delay the proposed public procession scheduled for October 30.

Meanwhile, the SNSBH urged the citizens to not be deceived by such “politics” of the Chief Minister but to support the public procession.

“Once and for all we will demand for the rights of the Hynniewtrep people and also once again insist that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet Ministers to resign for their posts,” Blah reiterated.
