Adharchand HS school celebrates platinum jubilee

Silchar, May 5: The Adharchand HS School Alumini Association celebrated the platinum jubilee year of the school on Sunday in the school premises. The celebration started with the hoisting of the school flag by Romonimohan Sinha, former teacher of the school, which was followed by a procession, which moved through the main thoroughfares of the town. All the students, both former and present, celebrated the occasion with unbridled joy and enthusiasm.

 The august institution was founded in the year 1940 in pre-Independent India during the British Raj. It has a distinction of producing some of the finest minds of the valley and beyond. Later, in the school premises the alumini celebrated the occasion by dancing to the rhythm of drum beats. Buddha Dhan Chakma, Minister of Sericulture and Fisheries, Mizoram and Swami Sudhamoyandaji of the Belurmath Ramkrish Mission were amongst the alumini who took part in the occasion. Also present were Apurba Kumar Palik, member of reception committee, former student Debojyoti Debroy, teachers, staffs and students of the hallowed institutions.
