Adhya shradha of rural artiste Nilima Brahma held

KOKRAJHAR, June 20: The adhya shradha of rural artiste Nilima Brahma was held on Sunday at her residence in South Aflagaon in Kokrajhar district in the presence of hundreds of villagers and well wishers.

The public ritual was held in the morning were local MCLA of BTC Jotirindra Brahma along with other dignitaries paid last respects during the memorial service.  Nilima Brahma, a well-known theatrical artiste and promoter of South Aflagaon, died after prolonged illness at her residence on June 9. She was an active promoter of Boro Yatragaon in the locality and to bring a new wave of revolution, particularly in the open Boro theatre. Somukhi Afat, a group of women artistes was founded in 1998 at their initiative. She took the responsibility of secretary of women’s artiste group and worked hard to promote traditiol culture and Bodo theatre.
