ITAGAR, Sept 30: A joint delegation of the Adi Students’ Union (AdiSU) and Adi Bane Kebang Youth Wing (ABKYW) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to state governor J P Rajkhowa questioning him on non implementation of Lokayukta bill in the state.

The unions in the memorandum stated that the Lokayukta bill is the need of the hour and the greatest machinery of democracy to fight against corruption in the state and in bringing transparency in the governce but to utter shock the bill is kept as lapse public property whereas the present government had passed the bill in march 2014.

The team led by AdiSU Convener Tadam Talom along with ABKYW Spokesperson Tapu Mibang alleged the state government and the present Chief Minister bam Tuki had mislead the state with fraudulent manifestos as he had promised that his government shall cater down the corruption and ensure transparency through Lokayukta.

“The state government has failed to implement the Lokayukta bill till date which is a great setback for the people of the state. The non implementation of the bill shall not be viewed as mere act of the state government, as we shall move for legal proceedings,” stated the duo.
