Adivasis to celebrate Sarhul at Chapar

CHAPAR, April 11: Sarhul, one of the most important festivals of Adivasis, will be celebrated at Ketengajhora LP School premises here with two-day programme from April 17 under the aegis of yakgaon Anchalik Committee of All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) . Sarhul is connected to the advent of spring when the trees and the ture take their best form with lush new leaves and blooming fragrant flowers. Adivasis welcome the new year by worshipping their village deity who is considered to be the protector of the tribes and feasting simultaneously.
