Advancement of South-West Monsoon, Widespread rain and Thunderstorms likely to occur in Northeast

Guwahati: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday informed that the Southwest monsoon has advanced to most parts of Mizoram and some parts of Manipur on Monday.

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of south Arabian Sea & Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, some more parts of Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, most parts of South-West & East-Central Bay of Bengal, some more parts of North-East Bay of Bengal, some parts of West-Central Bay of Bengal, most parts of Mizoram and some parts of Manipur.

Available data indicate that light to moderate rain occurred at most places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya with isolated very heavy falls over Meghalaya during last 24 hours. Day temperatures no large changed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during last 24 hrs. Those were above normal over Manipur and normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya & Tripura during last 24 hrs.
