AEC alumni dedicates bus stop

GUWAHATI, Dec 29: Alumni of 1992 batch of Assam Engineering College constructed and dedicated a bus stoppage at AEC campus to mark the concluding function of their Silver Jubilee Year celebrations on December 24. Alumni from across the state, country and abroad were present at the dedication function held at the Swahid Bedi ground adjacent to the bus stoppage. Principal of Assam Engineering College, Dr. Atul Bora who was the Chief Guest of the function, lauded the initiative of the Class of 1992 for this novel gesture towards giving back to their Alma Mater. Earlier, he formally iugurated the bus stop by cutting the ribbon and the ceremonial cake specially baked for the occasion.  He also exhorted the AECians now holding responsible positions in the industry, Govt. and other sectors to collaborate with AEC for industry–academia projects that could be a win-win situation for both sides. Also present on the occasion were Prof. Sunit K. Bhagawati, Civil Engineering Deptt., and Secretary of AEC Teachers Association Dr. Utpal K. th.

 The year-long Silver Jubilee Year celebrations of AEC Class of 1992 began with an iugural function held at Kaziranga in the month of January 2017 where alumni in large numbers congregated and conceived ways in which they could contribute towards betterment of AEC, other than celebrating their 25 year reunion along with their families.  All the batch mates proposed to carry out constructive activities as a collective effort that would benefit AEC and society as a whole.
