Asom Gana Parishad convention held at Haflong

Haflong, July 10: Aiming at the forthcoming elections, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) organized a one-day convention at the Cultural Institute Hall on Tuesday. The convention was attended by ministers Atul Bora, Keshav Mahanta and Phani Bushan Choudhury, former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta and leaders of AGP central committee and also the Dima Hasao District Committee. The convention was presided over by Atul Bora, Asom Gana Parishad president.

All the speakers appealed to the people of Dima Hasao that for the overall development of the district they should bring Asom Gana Parishad government in NC Hills Autonomous Council in the next election. Earlier all the AGP central leaders and district leaders were felicitated with traditional gamosa by the members of Dima Hasao AGP.

Talking to the media, Asom Gana Parishad leaders said alliance in NCHAC election would be decided by the district AGP leaders only and nothing could be said right now since the election to NCHAC had been postponed.
