AGP sounds poll bugle in Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, January 21: Addressing a mass rally at Kalaigaon on Thursday to kick-start the AGP’s campaign for the 2016 Assembly election, former Chief Minister Prafulla Mahanta slammed the Congress for allegedly not being able to solve Assam’s burning problems despite having been in power for the past 15 years. “If the people of Assam will vote for the AGP to form the next government, then the AGP will fulfil the demands of the people,” he said. This mass rally was organized by Kalaigaon unit of Asom Yuva Parishad (AYP) and it was presided over by Mukundaram Chaudhury, MLA of Kalaigaon LAC. Several noted persons like Tapan Das, general secretary of AYP, Sunil Rajkonwar, president of AYP, former minister Nurul Hussain also spoke in the meeting.  AGP State president Atul Borah took part in this open meeting as chief guest. A new committee of 31 members was formed headed by ba Kr. Deka as president and Soneshwar Barua as general secretary.
