AGP stages protest

Lakhimpur, September 16 : During the bandh called by All Assam Tai Ahom Students’ Union on Wednesday, more than hundred members of Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) staged a protest in Lakhimpur town against the BJP government for ‘neglecting’ the Assam Accord. Under the leadership of AGP MLA Utpal Dutta, a procession was carried out by the protesters from the North Lakhimpur AGP office to the office of the Deputy Commissioner. They protested with various slogans and banners against the Modi government for allowing citizenship and long-term visa to the people of Bangladesh and other countries. They also submitted two memoranda regarding immediate solution of this issue to the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur.
