AGP To Write Prime Minister Narendra Modi Against Citizenship Bill

New Delhi: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) will send a clarion letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the Citizenship (Amendment Bill) 2016. “We will send the letter to the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Through divisional commissioner and district magistrate, we will send the letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday…we will fight against this Bill,” said AGP president Atul Bora. Bora made it clear that in spite of the present political coalition in Assam his party will continue to protest against the Bill. He said that his party is facing several criticism but eventhen we will fight against the Bill being an ally of the BJP in Assam. “If the Bill is passed, it will not take much time to move out of the coalition,” said Bora. The AGP president also criticized the Congress for its “double standard.” He said that Congress does not have any right to criticize AGP. “We are also supporting the band called by the AASU against the Bill WE will take with all other likeminded parties to generate their support against the Bill,” said Bora. He said that JDU and Shiv Sena have already extended their support against the Bill.
