AGP urges PM Modi to abandon 'anti-Assam' policies

From a Correspondent
Dibrugarh, Feb 3: The district committee of Asom Ga Parishad (AGP), while welcoming Prime Minister  rendra Modi’s visit to the district on February 5  for iuguration of the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) at Lepetkata, has reserved their apprehensions regarding export of raw materials from  BCPL to other States. The dilapidating condition of the Tinsukia Plastic Park, which had been lying vacant due to non-registration of any manufacturing unit, and suspension of North East Industrial and Investment entrepreneur Policy, 2007 that blocked the production of manufactured goods in industrial units of Assam such as BCPL, has deprived local youths of employment opportunities. The district AGP committee president Pukon Borua, and joint general secretaries Putul Sonowal and Pradip Dowarah, in a press communiqué have called upon PM, rendra Modi to abandon his anti-Assam policies and demanded that the Plastic Park should be constructed for producing finished goods from the raw materials of BCPL.
