Agra shutdown against poor law and order

Agra, August 16: Traders here have called a shutdown in the Taj city on Monday to protest against deteriorating law and order situation. A grouping of traders associations and bazar committees on Sunday announced the ‘bandh’ over police failure to crack major crimes including murders and banditry. Agra Vyapar Mandal leader T.N. Agarwal said: “Already 25,000 traders and industrialists have migrated from Agra because of the deteriorating law and order situation.” BJP leader Kundanika Sharma said: “Agra is in a bad shape, and no one is bothered.” Business leaders accused politicians of harbouring and protecting crimils. Agra is home to the Taj Mahal, the 17th century wonder that is India’s biggest tourist draw.  (IANS)
