Agrasen Maharaja's birth anniversary celebrated

Doomdooma, Nov 2: The 5140 birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen was celebrated recently at Doomdooma at Marwari Panchayati Bhaban with pomp and gaiety by Agatwal Samaj. The function was started with hoisting of organisation’s flag by Chiranjilal Goyal, a senior citizen of the town which was followed by lightning of ceremonial lamp by chief guest Debi Pradad Bagrodia.

While speaking on life and achievements of Agrasen Maharaj, speaker Suresh Kr Bajaj laid stress on social get-together on the occasions like Dewali and Holi.

On the other hand, chief guest Bagrodia said that the Marwaris did not come to Assam to seek their fortute alone; they also brought with them the culture too.  The meeting was also addressed by MLA Durga Bhumij, jourlist Dhiren Deka, tea planter Gopal Keshan among others.
