AGSU cries foul, Court passes stay order

Itagar, March 16: Claiming that there was foul play in the selection process of Psychologist post which was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman District Health Society under tiol Health Mission on 27th February 2015, the All Galo Students Union (AGSU) demanded for immediate cancellation of the appointment.  In a press statement, AGSU claimed that genuine applicant Dagrik Gara was the lone candidate shortlisted by the District Medical Officer on 27th February 2015, however another candidate was appointed out of the blue.  The union questioned how come the authority allowed other candidate to appear in the interview whereas Gara was the only candidate shortlisted in the qualified list. It further added that the last date of submission of application of the said post was on 19th February 2015. It threatened to file crimil case against the authority, the District Health Society Pasighat in particular if it fails to deliver justice. Meanwhile, Itagar Bench of Gauhati High Court issued a stay order for appointment of the said post till the further order.
