Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Election, Manoj Dhanowar Eyes Congress Ticket from Dibrugarh Constituency in Assam

DIGBOI, July 27: Manoj Dhanowar, a descendant of the legendary Dhanowar family of Digboi and son of former Congress minister Rameswar Dhanowar, has decided to contest the in 2019 Lok Sabha election from the 116 Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency. Determined Dhanowar reiterated during an exclusive interview with The Sentinel that he would follow the footprints of his father in the political arena to accommodate the needs and aspirations of the people of Dibrugarh constituency and to bring in desirable equilibrium on various socio-economic and other vital parameters that the saffron party has failed so far.

According to him, the constituent segments of the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, including Digboi, Margherita, Naharkatiya, Tingkhong, Duliajan, Dibrugarh, Lahowal and Moran, were inhabited mostly by tea tribes people who needed special attention of the Centre for overall development. “With my eyes already set on the goal, I have already prepared my base with a large network of individuals, youths and women in particular, besides working with various frontline organizations and wings of the Congress,” said Dhanowar, who believes that youth and women empowerment were lethal tools of desirable change in society.
