Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, Meeting Convened To Publicize Gandhiji’s Philosophy of Life in Doomdooma, Assam

Doomdooma, July 29: In order to celebrate the 150 years of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 at Kasturba Labour Welfare Centre, Rupban, near Doomdooma, a meeting was convened at Rupban LP School on Saturday with journalist Arjun Baruah in the chair. It is mentionable that in a meeting convened at Gandhi Nivas, Sarania Ashram, Guwahati on January 30 last, it was resolved to widely publicize Gandhiji’s philosophy of life among all strata of people.

As per directive of ‘Gandhi : 150 Celebration Committee, Assam’, the meeting was organised and it was resolved to celebrate the day in order to imbibe the ideals of the father of the nation in the minds of young generation. For that a 21-member committee was formed with Dr Bulu Tanti as president, journalist Dhiren Deka as working president.
