Ahead of NRC draft publication, Sivasagar DC appeals for peace on July 25,2018

JOYSAGAR, July 25: The Sivasagar district administration has been taking all precautions with the help of the District Police as well as other security agencies deployed here to maintain peace and law and order in the district in view of the probable crisis regarding the publication of final draft of NRC on July 30. Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha has also appealed to all the citizens as well as various social organizations to be positive and not to believe any fake information circulated through any means, especially social media.

Meanwhile, the Sivasagar District Garia-Maria Parishad president Hafizul Ahmed and the Ujani Axom Muslim Kalyan Parishad working president Monirul Islam has also appealed to people to maintain peace and not to act based on fake information and fake news.

In a press release, both the leaders added that some notorious groups were active in the State and these groups did not want a peaceful solution of the immigrant problem for their selfish motives. The minority organizations also promised the Deputy Commissioner to assist the administration in maintaining peace and brotherly atmosphere in the district.
