AHVBP, BTC submit Memorandum on NRC submitted to Bihar Chief Minister

Gossaigaon: Delegates of Akhil Hindivasi Bikash Parishad (AHVBP), BTC, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Bihar through the principal secretary regarding NRC process in Assam. They pointed out various points for non-inclusion of Hindi-speaking people in the final draft NRC and appealed for the inclusion of all Hindi-speaking people of India without any dispute.

While speaking to The Sentinel, they said that during the meeting in Patna with the principal secretary, Bihar, Revenue Secretary, Home Secretary and other officials were also present. The Bihar government provided data regarding the NRC works going on in Bihar for Assam. According to the data provided by the Bihar government, total number of documents received from Assam was 73,019, out of which 2,342 documents had already been sent after verification, 11,877 documents which were unreadable had been returned to the Assam government, 341 sent to other States related to the documents, 40,733 were in districts for verification, 7,027 were in other departments/board/municipality and 13,132 were ready to be sent to districts for verification.

During the meet, the delegates of the AHVBP were assured by the principal secretary, Bihar, that the NRC issue had been taken seriously and the task would be completed as soon as possible.
