AICC research wing launched at Rajiv Bhawan

GUWAHATI, May 25: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has officially launched the Assam Chapter of the AICC Research Department on Friday in presence of the party president Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora and AICC Research Department Secretary Ranajit Mukherjee.

The AICC Research Department is envisaged as one of the 21st century, modern arms of the Indian National Congress. It is the party’s think tank and provides ammunition for Congress leaders and workers through detailed research reports that are fact checked and data driven.

It seeks to build a large, engaged knowledge network across the country, contribute towards improving public discourse, and serve as a bridge between policy and politics. It aims to develop a deep understanding of issues and aspirations of the people of India, idea on different possibilities in order to present an alternate vision. The Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, constituted the ‘AICC Research Department’ on June 1, 2017 and appointed Prof. M. V. Rajeev Gowda, MP as Chairman.
