Aids distributed to ex-servicemen

SIVASAGAR, April 9: Ex-servicemen and their families were distributed aid by the Sainik Welfare Department on Wednesday.

On the occasion, a distribution ceremony was organized under the aegis of Sivasagar Sainik Welfare organizer Jiten Saikia at the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar. Additiol Deputy Commissioner Hem Kanta Pegu distributed the aid to beneficiaries belonging to the ex-servicemen community.

The aids comprised sewing machines, agricultural machines, solar lamps, weaving threads, plastic chairs and tables, spray machines, steel almirah and grinder.

Earlier, Jiten Saikia, in his speech, highlighted various welfare schemes for the ex-servicemen undertaken by the State Sainik Welfare Board and appealed all to avail such benefits provided from time to time.
