Aids distributed to physically challenged people

Joysagar, July 13: Various aids, including learning materials and clothes, were distributed to some selected physically challenged people on Thursday by the Sivasagar District Social Welfare Department. A public meeting was organized by SDSWD in association with ALIMCO, an NGO based in Upper Assam. Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner PG Jha chaired the meeting which was held in the Rangpur Jyoti Club of Sivasagar. District Social Welfare Officer Deepali Devi outlined the objectives of the meeting while Jorhat LS MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa took part as the chief guest. Tasa in his speech focused on the welfare schemes implemented by the Union government for physically challenged people. SMB chairperson M Sinha, BJP district president Bhaben Mahan, DIPRO S. Gogoi, ALIMCO co-ordinator Saurav Baruah and many other dignitaries were present.
