AIDSO condemns 'anti-India' slogans in JNU

SILCHAR, Feb 18: Comrade Ashoke Mishra, general secretary of All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO), all India committee, based at Kolkata, in a press statement issued here today referring to the February 9 function organized at JNU New Delhi by some fringe groups and their slogans raised against the country said “We strongly condemn this act and our organization AIDSO was in no way associated with this or any such functions anywhere”. Rather, AIDSO upholds the struggle of the uncompromising trend of freedom movement of the country.

 Comrade Ashoke Mishra at the same time took the opportunity to hit out at the rightist forces taking plea of those objectioble slogans have unleashed a hate campaign against all the left organizations and the police at the behest of those forces and the BJP Government has started witch-hunting in the student hostels. He said, “We strongly protest against this.” In fact, the people of Barak Valley in general have taken the antitiol activities in JNU seriously. On Wednesday, a protest rally was brought out by SFI from rsingtola ground which came down before the statue of Khudiram Bose.

 Even before the organizers were preparing to hold their protest demonstration and make speeches against the attempts to stifle the democratic way of organizing a function in JNU and the alleged misbehaviour with the organizers of the function in the premises of Patiala House Court, a group of ABVP workers appeared on the scene and objected to their function. This led to heated exchange of wordy duel and scuffle. Ultimately, SFI had to wind up their protest demonstration.
