AIR Dibrugarh to temporarily close down medium wave transmitter

Dibrugarh, Jan 5:  In view of the ongoing construction work for setting up of a new transmitter, the All India Radio, Dibrugarh centre, programmes aired under Medium Waver 529.1, will not be transmitted from January 5 to January 29.  The 300 KW Medium Wave DRM Transmitter, Dibrugarh Akashvani Kendra, will step into digitalized radio services and Dibrugarh will become one of the most powerful Akashvani Kendras in the whole of eastern India, having DRM Transmitter. Knowing the importance of the Dibrugarh Kendra among the listeners of Upper Assam, East Aruchal Pradesh and a few in galand, the completion work of the proposed transmitter has been speeding up so that on March this year the work can be completed. Meanwhile, the viewers can tune in to FM 101.3 Megahertz, for listening to the regular programmes of Dibrugarh Akashvani Kendra, within the period between January 5 to January 21 as  300 Kilowatt Total Medium Wave  transmitter will be closed down for building the proposed  new transmitter.
