Aizwal FC earn I league berth

GUWAHATI, May 6: There will be one more team from North East in the I league next year. Aizwal FC qualified for the next edition of I league by winning the 2nd Division tiol League title today. Although there is still one match left in the competition but Aizwal FC made an unbeatable lead in the points table. The side in the penultimate round match beat Chanmari FC by 4-2 at Golaghat today. With this win, Aizwal FC collected 31 points from 13 matches and ensured a berth in the I league. Lonestar Kashmir FC, who were also running neck to neck with Aizwal FC for a berth in the I league today dumped their hope drawing  13th round match against Kenkre FC by 1-1. Lonestar, who are now in the second spot in the points table, bagged 27 points from 13 matches.  Mohammedan Sporting are in third spot with 26 points from same number of matches.
