Ajanta Neog conferred with 'Golaghat Rat' award

Golaghat, January 28: United Chamber of Commerce, Golaghat is celebrating its diamond jubilee this year. As part of the celebration, United Chamber of Commerce decided to give an award titled ‘Golaghat Rat’ to the MLA of Golaghat LAC and State Minister Ajanta Neog for her praiseworthy work in the field of politics, culture and society.

On Wednesday a ceremony was held at the Amateur Theater Society Auditorium in Golaghat where minister Ajanta Neog was conferred with the ‘Golaghat Rat’ award. In the ceremony the chief guest was noted writer educationist and professor of Gauhati University, Dr Malini Goswami. United Chamber of Commerce president Apurba Ballav Goswami presided over the award ceremony meeting where general secretary of the organization, Dip Kalita spoke about the purpose of the meeting.

The family members of founder president and general secretaries of United Chamber of Commerce Golaghat were felicitated. Then the main event of conferring the ‘Golaghat Rat’ award to Ajanta Neog commenced. Chief guest Dr Malini Goswami presented the award to Neog. The award consists of a seleng chadar, sofura and a letter of appreciation.

The minister was also felicitated by the Golaghat Foundation, Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya and several other organizations of Golaghat. In the ceremony Dr Ajit Baruah , Golap Saikia and  several other distinguished guests were present.
