AJYCP against privatization of OIL wells

FROM A CORRESPONDENT

DULIAJAN, April 1: “Even after earning crores of rupees as profit from various OIL fields in Assam and Aruchal Pradesh, OIL was planning to privatize six oil wells by showing no presence of crude oil in these well,” alleged Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba-Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Duliajan  Regiol committee president Bubul Bhuyan and secretary Bidyut Bikash Gogoi.

They also alleged that these multitiol private companies were engaging local youths at minimum wages. They further alleged that OIL was collecting large amount of revenues from crude oil and gas fields in Assam and Aruchal Pradesh.

According to a press statement, the Kharsang OIL well in Aruchal Pradesh had already handed over to multitiol company G-ANPRO and plans were on to hand over  OIL wells in Sapekhati of Sivasagar district, Jerai Pather of Tinsukia district and Kheram of Aruchal Pradesh to private companies.

The AJYCP alleged that OIL was carrying on search operation for crude oil in foreign countries by submitting false reports to the Central Government about failure to produce crude oil. The Duliajan regiol unit of AJYCP submitted a memorandum on March 31 to RCE of OIL in this regard.
