AJYCP alleges forest officials 'violating' government rules

Jorhat, February 9: The AJYCP Jorhat district committee has alleged that many forest officials in Jorhat district have violated the existing government rules. They have submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Assam against the forest officer regarding the alleged violation of government order and demanded to take immediate steps in the matter. Furthermore, there are many foresters in the district who have been holding their posts in the district for about 14 years in the same post, alleged the AJYCP. Through an RTI application it has come to light that Romen Gogoi, Forester-1 has been occupying the same post for 14 years and Simanta Gogoi, Forester- 1, joined Jorhat division in 1990 and he has been occupying the same post till now. On the other hand, the Beat officer of New-Sunuwal under Mariani range, Dipok Bordoloi was transferred by the government from his post on August 27, 2015 vide order no 917. But the officer still remains in this post till date without taking any steps for his transfer. When contacted, Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat, Solanki Vishal Vasant said, “The last court order came to have the matter decided by CF EAC. Acordingly the CF ordered Dipok Bordoloi to continue.”
