AJYCP condemns Tawang incident, observes Black Day

MARGHERITA, May 3: Activists of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Margherita Regiol Committee, on Tuesday observed black day in Margherita region and hoisted black flag in Ledo area of Margherita subdivision.
Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee said, “Today we observed Black Day in Margherita region because on Monday in Tawang during a clash between police and anti-dam activists, three people were killed and more than 10 people were seriously injured. Big dams are a major problem of Assam and its neighbouring States but the BJP government at the Centre forcefully wants to build big dams. BJP before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls had opposed big dams but today the rendra Modi government forcefully wants to build big dams in Assam and its neighbouring States. We will continue our agitation against big dams.”
Meanwhile, Federation of Barua Buddhist Welfare Association of Assam secretary general Sibu Talukdar also condemned the incident at Tawang where two Buddhist monks died during police firing.
Noted Leftist thinker Comrade Bikash Dasgupta had also condemned the incident.
