AJYCP demands stern measures to curb drug trafficking

Dibrugarh, May 5: The Dibrugarh District Committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), expressing serious concern over the ever increasing drug trafficking in the town and its outskirts, has appealed to district civil and police administration to look into the mece and take appropriate measures to curb the problem with immediate effect.

In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner MS Manivan, the president and secretary , Ranjit Das and Homen Borgohain respectively, stated that the ever increasing drug mece had destroyed the hopes and aspirations of a section of upgrowing youths in the district.

Both the youth leaders had demanded permanent closedown of all the drug dens and exemplary punishment to all the drug traffickers. They also cautioned that the authority should not be lenient either in bbing these drug Mafiosi or leave any legal loopholes so that they could get easy legal escape, failing to do so, the organization has threatened to intensify their bid to end the mece.
