AJYCP stages protest against drug peddling in Margherita

MARGHERITA, May 16: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita Regiol Committee on Monday burnt tyres near Ledo College at NH 38 in protest against the rising drugs mece in Margherita subdivision.

More than 100 activists of AJYCP took part in the agitatiol programme and raised various slogans against the Margherita administration. Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee said that the use of drugs and other intoxicating substances had increased alarmingly in Margherita subdivision, which had in turn led to an increase in theft, robbery and other crimil activities.

Bora added that the drug mece had increased in Baragolai,Ledo, Lekhapani, Jagun and other areas but the administration and police were in a deep slumber. “We warn the Margherita administration to immediately take necessary steps against the rising drug mece in Margherita subdivision or we will intensify our agitation,” said Bora.
