AJYCP stages protest demanding arrest of murderer of student

MARGHERITA, Jan 3: On  December 31 amidst new celebration, Deepjyoti Gogoi, a 16-year old student was allegedly brutally killed by three youths at 1 Number Makum Pather, Margherita.

One accused, Mai Bokotial was arrested by Margherita Police while the other two accused Bhai Rajkhowa and Bogadhar Mech are still absconding. Deepjyoti Gogoi was the organizing secretary of Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Margherita Town Branch Committee.

Surojit Moran, president of AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee, said that to protest against the failure of the police to arrest the other two accused, AJYCP will stage a dhar on Monday in front of the Margherita Sub Divisiol office (Civil), on January 5 the activists will burn the effigy of the Chief Minister, on  January 6 there will be road blockade in Margherita and various agitatiol programmes in different places of Tinsukia district and on January 7, Margherita subdivision strike for 12 hours has been called.

Moran said that until the other two accused Bhai Rajkhowa and Bogadhar Mech were arrested, the AJYCP would further intensify its agitation.
